Blender Generalist

Coronation’s Blender Generalist will be responsible for creating high-quality 3D assets and animations using Blender. This role requires expertise in modeling, rigging, animating, and texturing, and involves close collaboration with creative leadership, producers, and animation teams to bring projects from concept to final delivery.
Responsibilities
Spheres of Influence / Responsibility
Model, rig, animate, and texture 3D assets for a variety of projects, ensuring consistency and excellence across styles and formats.
Collaborate with directors, producers, and other artists to develop and execute creative visions.
Maintain and organize Blender project files, ensuring assets are production-ready and meet technical requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to 3D workflows.
Creative & Technical Execution
Interpret storyboards, animatics, and creative briefs to produce compelling 3D content.
Develop characters, environments, props, and visual effects as needed.
Ensure all 3D assets are optimized for animation and rendering.
Stay current with Blender updates, plugins, and industry best practices.
Team Collaboration
Work with Animation Director and Creative Directors to understand project needs and goals
Work closely with animation and compositing teams to integrate 3D assets into larger projects.
Provide feedback and support to other team members on 3D techniques and workflows.
Participate in regular reviews and incorporate feedback to improve asset quality.
Communication
Present work-in-progress and final assets to internal stakeholders.
Respond to feedback and make revisions while maintaining creative integrity.
Ensure expectations are met or exceeded throughout the production process.
A Week in the Life
On Monday mornings, participate in Round Table meetings to provide updates on 3D work and address immediate needs.
Daily, work on assigned 3D tasks, review progress, and collaborate with team members.
Regularly connect with leads to monitor project health and resolve creative or technical challenges.
As needed, initiate new 3D assets and support other departments with Blender expertise.
Measures of Success
3D assets and animations are delivered on time, within budget, and meet or exceed creative expectations.
Work demonstrates technical proficiency and creative innovation.
Assets are organized, optimized, and ready for integration into production pipelines.
Positive feedback from clients, stakeholders, and team members.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Animation, 3D Art, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in 3D modeling, rigging, animation, and texturing using Blender.
Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of 3D work in Blender.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Blender and familiarity with other industry-standard 3D tools is a plus.
Deadline and detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
Familiarity with project management tools such as ClickUp.
Must work at our studio in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and be legal to work in the US.
