FAITH COUNTS // TOLTON

Did he remember?

The sounds of Confederate gunfire echo along the shore of the Mississippi, as a runaway mother rows her son to safety in a ramshackle canoe.

This is the true story of Augustus Tolton, a man who was born into slavery, escaped to freedom, and became known as “The First Black Priest in America.”

This video was produced for Faith Counts as a part of an ongoing effort to showcase incredible stories of faith in action.
